Sustainable Harborough’s Business Energy Efficiency or BEE steering group was formed to promote and support business to be more energy efficient in the town and district. The group wants to cut energy costs for businesses, and reduce their carbon emissions and is made up with members from local businesses and public bodies. The group’s first major achievement has been the formation of the Harborough Business Energy Club which had its first meeting in September 2014 which was well attended by a variety of types and sizes of business, and now meets quarterly, the group are now looking at other ways of lowering businesses energy bills and are currently working with the Environmental Technology Centre at Nottingham University to provide two local businesses with a fully funded environmental audit.
The BEE steering group are currently looking at further projects including reducing energy costs within SME’s, amongst others.
New members are always welcome to join the BEE Steering group and if you or your business or organisation would like to be involved then please ring Jo Sharman at Sustainable Harborough on 01858 466207 or email email@example.com for further information.
