Sustainable Harborough is proposing to support the creation of small community growing plots on two green spaces in Market Harborough, and we want to hear what you think! A community consultation has started on 1st February and will close on 1st March 2016. Incredible Edible is a national community grassroots scheme which involves the creation of small plots for the growing and sharing of fruit and vegetables. The idea is that some under-used green spaces will be turned into growing spaces for those living nearby to enjoy growing, sharing and eating food. The green spaces being considered are off Roman Way and off Davies Close. These community growing spaces won’t work unless there is enthusiasm and effort put in by the local community. Therefore it is crucial that during the consultation period we listen to people’s ideas and concerns, and gauge the level of support for the proposals. We are working with an independent consultant to analyse and write up the findings, and then we will be reporting to Harborough District Council.

Have your say!
